Paseo de Gràcia
Passeig de Gràcia is one of the best known avenues of Catalonia. It has a great tourist importance, shopping areas, businesses and important works of modernist architecture of recognized architects like Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domènech i Montaner and that have been declared a World Heritage Site.
Formerly it was a rural road with orchards on both sides and was the main road to get from Barcelona to the municipality of Gracia. In the 19th century, the promenade was urbanized and once it was inaugurated it was the favorite place of the aristocracy to exhibit its rider skills and later, its luxurious cars. Years later, with the Ensanche project, landscaped houses were created in the surroundings that were finally replaced by apartment buildings.
Today you can find prestigious fashion stores such as Adolfo Dominguez, Burberry, Bvulgari, Chanel or Gucci, among many others.
